Laspa Center for Leadership: We Act Action and Research Grants 2017 Recipients Announced

The Laspa Center for Leadership at ÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏÕ¾ has awarded five We Act Action and Research Grants for 2017. Each student recipient will execute a yearlong, self-designed project to “transform knowledge, passion, and ideas into action, demonstrate creative and effective problem-solving, create partnerships in the public or private sector, and produce outcomes that make a positive impact.”

Scripps Students March for Science

On Saturday, April 22, over 50,000 people gathered to celebrate Earth Day at the Los Angeles March for Science. Among the thousands that gathered in downtown L.A.’s Pershing Square were a group of 12 students and faculty representing the W.M. Keck Science Department, who marched in support of continued federal funding for science as well as in celebration of the crucial role science plays in the advancement of our society.

The 5C Experience: The Claremont Tamasha CLORG

A crowd of more than 400 from The Claremont Colleges (5C) community turned out for an evening of South Asian dance, music, and cultural appreciation at Sanskriti 2017. Now in its fifth year, Sanskriti is one of the largest 5C student-run performances, attracting both participants and audiences. This year’s Sanskriti, held on April 7, 2017, featured over 150 dancers from all 5Cs.
